I’m a big fan of home cooked foods and I try to make my meals most of the time. But like you, I’m a busy person with a full time job and two kids. Therefore, I rely on some store bought snacks to appease my hunger. I’ve created a list of my favorites to share with you. Remember, just because these are much healthier than traditional snacks like chips and candy, that doesn’t mean you should overdo them. Stick to a serving — at most once a day.
A handful of nuts: almonds, walnuts, pecans, or cashews. Preferably raw and organic. They’re filled with healthy fats, fiber, and protein. They also are satisfying because they make you feel full. A handful is a serving. If you’re stuck in the airport, or find yourself hungry at a gas station, and can’t find anything to eat, nuts are often the best choice available.
